Activities

We have many activities and ministries in our church which minister to us and to the world around us. A few of the more significant ones are listed here. You are welcome to join us.

Sunday Morning and Evening Worship

Sunday worship is at the heart of most Christian congregations, and we are no exception. We believe it is good to set aside time to remember God, worship Him, enjoy the support of mutual fellowship one with another, and to be quiet and allow the Holy Spirit to speak to our hearts. We meet in the main sanctuary at 11:00 am and 7:00 pm.

Sunday School

It is important for all of us to have a place where we can come to learn more about God and His Word, the Bible, and find answers to the questions we have. Sunday School is one place where we meet to do that. Classes are available for all ages from nursery through adult. We meet for an hour Sunday mornings prior to Morning Worship. .

Wednesday Evening Adult Bible Study

For those who wish to become more familiar with Scripture, our Wednesday evening Bible study will help you to discover what God has to say to you. We meet on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 in the Sanctuary.

Women's Bible Study

Another source of spiritual nourishment Women meet at 9:30 am on Moday mornings in the Del-Meth Hall.

Children's Ministry

During Sunday Morning Worship, a nursery is available for the very young children, children age 5 through 4th grade may take advantage of our Junior Church. We also have a Children's Choir, Children's Bell Choir (The Rainbow Ringers), occasional after school programs and, of course, children are a vital part of our Sunday School.

Youth Ministry

Ministry to One Another, the Community and Beyond

World Missions

At Dobbins, we avoid the error of reducing the Gospel to a mere admonition to do good works. But, we also avoid the error of forgetting that Jesus did command us to look after one another and care for those in need. A number of ministries and activities allow individuals who need help to find it, and allow those who can help to provide it. Lunch with Love provides meals for those who need them. Homeless Ministry provides food for those who are forced to live on city streets. Food Pantry provides nourishment for those facing a temporary need. Our annual West Virginia Work Mission extends our outreach to more than just our own community.

The influence of our congregation literally extends around the world as many domestic and foreign missionaries are welcomed to visit us and tell of their work and receive financial, material and prayer support from us.
